Without our community partners, National Links Trust would not be where we are today. We rely on our partners for on course programming, community activations and on & off course youth development. Highlighted below are a few specific partnerships and how they play a critical role in executing NLT’s mission.

LANGSTON GOLF COURSE CONSERVANCY

Also known as Friends of Langston, this group of individuals focuses on financial support, historic preservation efforts, supporting youth and neighborhood recreational activities, and fostering economic development opportunities in around the Langston Golf Course community. NLT will partner with Friends of Langston to execute fundraising, partnerships with Howard University and a new Black Golf Museum/Hall of Fame.

THE FIRST TEE - GREATER WASHINGTON, DC

Impacting the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values, and promote healthy choices. Critical to supporting NLT’s on-course programming and community development strategy. NLT will partner with the First Tee of Greater Washington to build youth program locations at all three courses, building infrastructure and amenities that will drive program success.

ANACOSTIA WATERSHED SOCIETY

Focused on restoring areas of environmental connectivity among Kingman Island, the Anacostia River, and Langston by implementing a comprehensive vegetation management plan. This project will remove invasive species and revegetate the shoreline along Kingman Lake and the Anacostia River, creating new site lines to waterviews and a better environment for wildlife and vegetation.

EVANS SCHOLARS FOUNDATION & CADDY PROGRAM

Focused on providing college scholarships to golf caddies, including full tuition and housing. Operated by the Western Golf Association, the Evans Scholars Foundation has helped more than 11,000 caddies graduate from college since its creation in 1930. NLT is partnered with Evans Scholar and WGA on a caddie program at Langston with eventual expansion to Rock Creek Park Golf Course and East Potomac Golf Links

GOLF MY FUTURE. MY GAME

Creating strategic alliance initiatives for education and career development in the sport of golf. Targeting women, millennials, communities of color and kids GMFMG works to foster greater diversity in both the business and sport. NLT will work with GMFMG to create a workforce development program. Named after the late Jack Vardaman, this program with employ local youth at all three of NLT’s courses.

YOUTH ON COURSE

Making the future of golf inviting, inclusive and, most importantly, accessible to all young people who will become the next generation of lifelong players and lovers of the game. YOC will partner with NLT on our workforce development and caddie programs.

JIM VANCE MEDIA PROGRAM

A specific track offered to students at Archbishop Carroll High School, NLT will partner with the program to give students the unique media opportunity of helping to curate and tell the NLT story.
